My sympathy is for Ukrainian victims of Russia, not its hired barbarians who when at home prefer panga parties to building a safe, free democracy. If a volunteer comes back in a bag he won't threaten innocent fellow Africans. If one comes back with combat experience he'll be another tool of local oppression and banditry. The Soviet Union did immense damage to Africa by not genuinely supporting "liberation" but rather the despot du jour. Soviet weapons will be killing Africans for another century. It's horrible...

Why are they able to walk today?

Agreed. Fortunately the West has BDA assessment capabilities dwarfing the (excellent) commercial satellite providers. Russian systems can be tracked from their base to destination and software can supplement or replace the Mark 1 Eyeball of human imagery specialists. Abandoned equipment implies many crew egressed on foot. Those interested can poke about Telegram channels as mass media are so heavily censored. Russian troops are often cold and too lethargic to dodge dropped grenades. They fail to prepare overhead cover, a basic soldier task since the WWI era to avoid being seen then struck. They often leave their buddies for the dogs. WIA care for survivors won't come close to Western standards while malnourished exhausted troops are vulnerable to disease. Russian field sanitation is terrible with trash and spoil highlighting their trenches from a distance.

We have geolocated tank and vehicle kills in the thousands and those tanks and vehicles were part of units badly mauled. OSINT means we need not rely on partisan sources and NATO militaries have 24/7 overhead surveillance and global intel. This isn't a matter of observers in barrage balloons guesstimating through the smoke of battle.

Russia is proficient at granular abandonment of many things from armor to its own troops. It couldn't be bothered to casevac!

NATO bridging equipment can sort that and if both tanks are sent then used appropriately the combined firepower would have greater effect. Where tank weight is an issue they can be used defensively until opportunity offers itself. US forces crossed Euphrates and other rivers with little fuss. It's a solved problem if the right systems are sent.

@Mountain_Lake_Adventures No need for a vocalized pause when the speaker can simply wait to compose their thoughts or in this case write their response to refine it then speak. That's basic professional communication.

The damage was sufficient but not dramatic. The cure for low volume of PGM fires is more PGM, of course including tube arty but also missiles, rockets, and UAS and other delivery systems. In contrast Russian arty doctrine reflects poor accuracy and is terribly inefficient.

Not enough to fight like Taliban to get rid of it. Grumbling means nothing, only violence. Iran could shrug off the mullahs as easily as it shrugged off Pahlevi. That is not happening.
2
Russians were always good at espionage, subversion and propaganda (the poorly done propaganda is targeted at simpletons, other propaganda and subversion is much less visible). They created nearly the entire modern Left (Maoists of course did their share), attacked NATO energy independence via "green" movements and easily chilled opponents via Novichok and open windows.
2
MLSR and ASM and UAS would be more valuable than jets, but asking for jets to get those instead is good policy. Aircraft are horrid resource sinks with vulnerable basing and valuable crew. A meatbag riding a jet should be seen as backward compared to weapons that self-deliver and often feed video to home station. The West should saturate Ukraine with missile systems capable of medium range attacks to reach where ATGW cannot and to complement drones.

This American agrees with Poland! Ignore Leftists and other subversives who want to destroy YOUR country. Do everything necessary to stop the war against INDIGENOUS Europeans. There can be no legal obligation to undermine your own country. Lock the borders and encourage citizens to deal with any who sneak in. If there is no welcome there will be no invasion. If someone employs illegals, make them "famous".

Have some analysis and commentary from a maritime professional, Sal Mercagliano. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFS3SoVv--c

This is the Telegraph not a quality source. One cannot expect its staffers to do more than a few seconds internet search per post if that.

Russia is to blame for the entire Communist movement and its offspring. Russia is to blame for the Soviet Union. Russia is to blame for over a century of murder, subversion, war and oppression in eastern Europe and of course against various people within Russia. Russia is not culturally capable of positive change. Russia delenda est (and its simps too).

The same methods which freed Ireland from the British Crown offer themselves for preservation of INDIGENOUS Irish human rights. The ballot box does not work against social conspiracies. There is another box for that.

Flying fighters at US sortie rates means losing a few. It really is the historic cost of doing business. Back in the 1980s the Safety folks accurately predicted loss rates of about a fighter squadron per year. Beats WWII where CONUS losses rivalled combat losses with thousands of crashes and over 15K dead. Flying combat aircraft is always risky and life is not Hollywood.

Bingo. The Russian system was built to fail and it's too late to fix. It takes years to build effective officer and NCO corps, and Russia has zero interest in an effective independent-thinking armed force. In contrast US and NATO troops not only function independently but rather enjoy it.
