Condos are the perfect scam because the people who buy them are too helpless to even manage an (equally or more affordable) typical one storey ranch house. The trouble is buildings age and if you do not own ALL of the structure you live in AND ALL the land it sits on you have no control worth mentioning. Unlike a ranch home that's easy to fix and, if suddenly impoverished, can be patched up one way or another, condos require professionals whose services do not come cheap. That is why I would NEVER live in a condo and if given one would sell it instantly. Living near the ocean only makes sense if you actually swim in it frequently and is otherwise also an expensive rip off. It's sad that many gullible trusting ignorant uninformed people are suckered into condos. Ignore realtors (they exist to take your money not improve your life) and anyone trying to sell you on the idea of group living of any sort.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. No reason existed to build Titan when Alvin's design is proven over many years. This submersible did not need to exist because the methods of construction used are inherently inferior to steel.

There is no intelligent reason that style bridge could not be an all-steel military-style bridge instead. Unlike cheap brittle concrete military bridges are all-steel, can be erected very quickly, can be removed quickly and repaired quickly. Bailey bridges from WWII still carry road traffic around the world. For basic structures like that there is no intelligent reason to play around when the objective is easily met with proven designs able to carry far more weight. Military and civilian (most are civilian) portable bridging can even be rented and often is for short term construction work. Prefabricated steel is easy to place, easy to inspect and in every way superior to that piece of junk.

Why someone would buy a tiny piece of property over which they have no control is a mystery. If you do not own the entire structure you live in AND the land beneath you essentially "own" nothing in terms of control. If you're smart you choose the traditional, easy to maintain single storey ranch on an inland location whose failure modes don't drop tons of rubble on your head. As for FIU that entire bridge should have been steel. Steel military bridging from WWII remains in use around the world. Steel is easy to maintain, repair and recycle. A miltiary steel bridge could have spanned that road in a day. Instead they chose a childishly silly reinforced concrete bridge because they thought it would be cool.
