  1. (More) jobs used to be amazingly terrible by modern standards. That's what drove collective bargaining in the first place. I was alive then. What observably changed is the collapse of the US primary education system. Ignorant workers are easy to manipulate. That's a key reason employers locate in states which don't protect them. I live not far from the famous Enersys plant which was shut down to stop organized labor's spread. The wise move is choosing a career not dependent on collective bargaining unless you're IBEW, Local 798 etc with a strong union. The reason to avoid careers dependant on collective bargaining is your fellow citizens are not reliable stewards of your fate.
