  2. Cannibalization done right (USAF style) is a force effectiveness multiplier. It's also useful for commercial vehicle fleets. Done wrong it gets out of control. One cann vehicle per unit is probably quite reasonable in A-stan given the parts situation.

  3. ERA? What ERA? (6:36) Russian tactics of sending light AFV as armored spearheads were silly from the start begging to get lit up. Their discipline is terrible and they seem allergic to infantry screens, fortunately for civilization. Their idea of an AFV is more like an "APC with boomsticks" and despite inventing APS their vehicles lack it. No hard-kill APS on the modern battlefield means you fry.

  4. That thing is no more a "tank" than I am King of England. Anything without hard-kill APS is gonna die in ATGW-dense combat. APCs are no more IFVs than an M4 half-track. Azov and other experienced users do well enough with BMP but untrained conscripts get predictably amusing results.

  5. Two words: 73 Easting. BMP is an APC with a cannon. That had predictable results in Grozny and elsewhere.
