  1. That abortion was an outgrowth of the (incredibly stupid and costly) Key West agreement which deprived the Army of heavy fixed wing attack aircraft. That and the various USAF gunships are great against opponents without MANPADS but that era is ending (see Ukraine where neither side has air dominance due to missiles not opposing fighters). It's still cute though.
