  1.  @ryanjg87  East Germany's Berlin Wall was to keep people IN and prevent them from escaping. Those who fled were shot and and sometimes killed. I served in West Germany during the early half (it never ended) of the Cold War. The free half of Germany were delightful hosts and welcomed their fellow escaping Soviet rule in the Warsaw Pact.

  3. When Algeria was allowed to fall Frances fate was sealed. The formerly great colonial power is itself being colonized, and by that reverse colonization is hoisted on its own petard. The more socially liberal a nation the weaker its will to self-defense, for it considers the world entitled to walk in and take over. That of course is its right but actions have consequences.

  4. Democracy is INHERENTLY weak, too weak for serious combat with internal enemies. Democracy is for managing affairs between cooperative friends. Enemies by their actions demand harsh measures escalated until the problem is solved. Mexico is a failed narcostate needing a very strong hand at the tiller.

  5. The runway issue is highly over-rated by people not involved in military aviation. Run a FOD sweeper down a decent concrete highway after civil engineering does their assessment then go fly sorties.

  6. Walls may not be perfect but if they are guarded by human pickets work effectively. The Berlin Wall is a famous example. International critics object to nations controlling their own borders. When the choice is between your own people surviving or chaos for everyone that is no choice at all.

  10. Immigrants (America where I live was built by them and earlier generations UNDERSTOOD THEIR OBLIGATION TO ASSIMILATE) need to remember they are FLEEING THEIR OWN SHITTY CULTURE. Were it any good they'd stay home. That cannot be hammered home enough no matter who it offends (taking offense is really a calculated childish tantrum). My ancestors promptly assimilated when the got off the boat and promptly contributed to the culture which rescued them from pogroms, poverty, and persecution. So can everyone else. A nation does not belong to the world. A nation belongs to its people in the way a house belongs to the homeowner (freedom is unusable without property rights). Immigrants should be selected not for need but for the value they personally add to a society. Were I to emigrate I'd promptly volunteer for my new home's armed forces or similar job defending my new people. I would RECUSE myself from acting against the will of those whose birthright that nation is. That said, hyper-liberal societies tend to hold (as if it were an obligation which it is certainly not) desperately naive ideas that everyone is interchangeable and actively RESENT the idea that local culture is what makes a country, and that culture is people. For example Russia invades its neighbors over centuries and only elevates tyrants to power because Russian culture demands this. That cannot be changed by thoughts and prayers. Africa is what it is because it's ruled by Africans making African choices. Colonials didn't teach the locals infibulation or animism.

  11. Because DC is deliberately flooding America with people to whom Americans have zero obligation at great social and financial cost to the border states. That is not up for question but the motives are! Biden wants future Democratic voters and will gleefully displace Americans to import them. DC is historically an enemy to Texas along with the Democratic party so escalation is long overdue and Texans have been overly tolerant. Texas won't secede but the backlash may help flip the White House and other centers of power.

  13. FOD walks are normal on every air force base as are FOD sweepers. F-16s can operate from concrete highways and be fueled and armed by dispersed vehicles making harder targets. They can ingest considerable sand which just blast cleans the fan and compressor sections. I borescoped plenty of Pratts and GEs on deployments.
