Keeping it real, ODs solve more problems than they create. Every less junkie makes the world a little cleaner. Decent sane people refuse to become junkies in the first place. Proof are millions of legitimate pain med patients.

Who is it, pray tell, that ELECTS these politicians?

I predict all rebellion will be crushed because centuries of abject conformity and servitide to the (oddly much-worshipped) upper classes cannot be undone. Conformity will win and the conformists will be proud of finishing off the UK by giving their and others inheritance away.

Everything south of the US border is a failed narco-state feeding the US and global markets. Drug Prohibition is government interference with what the public demand to buy and WILL buy. The two choices are unregulated black markets or regulated markets. In other news alcohol and nicotine are the most destructive drugs but Food Lion employees aren't (normally) doing drive-bys on Piggly-Wiggly because regulated markets work! Current methods ONLY make drug dealing profitable. This is hard for the room-temp IQ crowd to understand hence unlikely to change. OTOH the results make for effective SEO and this video means not only the pimps profit from human suffering. 25+ million views isn't pocket change and drives traffic to the parent website. Viewers can (from a safe distance) frown sternly then go about their day with zero skin in demanding change....so nothing changes.

Want workers? Allow them to immigrate! You can have all the Latin Americans you want and would if they had transport. They go to the US because they can.

Russia can expend far more cannon fodder in its usual tradition and with most losses being troops the Kremlin are glad to lose (convicts, gullible separatists, impoverished Buryats who so far have been easy to deceive) this war can go until the Russian economy implodes (familiar to those of us who lived through the first part of the Cold War). Unlike nations who value their people Russians are apathetic cattle thanks to centuries of predatory rule. A few may grumble but the old fix of the firing squad solved that in more than one way. Even if Russians revolt there is no secular democratic tradition anywhere in Russian history so as usual evil will replace evil. The West and UN will be forced to cut a deal with whatever mobsters win the internal squabble (as usual). Putin will be replaced by another nationalist, perhaps a competent one. May Vlad last long enough to collapse his own armed forces.

@Unknown24466 Good for them. As a Yank I welcome more so get on with it! Your opportunities here (despite the media) are vastly better. We knew in 1776 leaving the rule of evil masters was the wise choice. Come to the US and you've a shot at owning property (not in expensive areas where no one sane should want to live so I don't), your choice of climate and much more.

In democracies the voters elect their representatives and they're not doing a good job at their civic duty. Good government DEMANDS aggressive civic activism and being passive gets you nowhere.

That's nonsense and you clearly never served. Information access varies by classification of information, the persons security clearance and "need to know" to support the mission. For example if he was preparing Powerpoint presentations for meetings he would have had appropriate security clearance for the information used and a "need to know" to compose and edit the slideshow. In other news a secretary doesn't make corporate decisions but does have access to what their bosses need them to use. "National Guardsman" is not a security clearance, Guardsman HAVE security clearances (or not). There are Generals with varities of Top Secret clearances in the Guard and Reserve. They are not LESSER forces, they are forces with different organizational models under different command structures.
