  3. Russia never changes for the good and has been remarkably consistent since Czarist times. While Germany and Japan had toxic governments, their cultures also have deep democratic inclinations (for example the pro-peace Japanese politicians who supported ending WWII). Russia has never produced a decent society for anyone but the boyar class and its masters. It is not logical to believe it ever can. Russia has exiled, imprisoned and executed it's intelligentsia going back centuries. Its empire is far from finished and until that happens Russia will remain existential enemy of European civilization. It's not "politically correct" to point this out but facts care nothing for feelings, even those of Putinist sympathizers. Russia delenda est.

  5. Russia is NOT EUROPEAN and cannot be expected to identify with values its culture never shared. The majority of Russians supported Lenin, Stalin etc and were the people who inflicted the Holomodor on Ukraine. Putin is merely a minor symptom of the fundamental Russian character. Gulin as well. Ordinary Russians in their armed forces murder innocent Ukrainians every day with the logistic, financial and moral support of the majority of ordinary Russians. The war is a flawless reflection of true Russian culture or it could not exist because its precursor atrocities would not have happened. The murderous war on Ukraine is a collective act of the Russian people in their usual pursuit of tyrannical conquest. It's time Europe awoke. Previous Fascist evils in the West in no way negate their match in kind and quality over much longer time in the East.

  7. Send the parents to Ukraine and they may lose their appetite for squandering their offspring, but I doubt it. Militarism is easily used to manipulate the simple all over the world. The idea Stalinism "liberated" anyone not Stalinist is highly questionable, demonstrated by revolts and resistance in former Warsaw Pact nations after their conquest. The first victims of Bolshevism were Russians but they are long forgotten, such that modern iconography simultaneously celebrates the Romanovs and the Soviets who butchered them.
