It may sound extreme but if you take what should be normal backup measures it's quite easy. Perform a clean install then update that and install all your other applications. Make a a backup image. Test that image by loading your hard disk (or virtual machine) of choice. Then backup is as simple as wipe and install, and you can do everything from one external hard disk with a bootable USB adapter (cheap). Benefits include ability to immediately and easily load a new hard disk installed as an upgrade or to replace a failed part. Since I first learned to use computers I understood that the old Marine adage "one is none and two is some" applies to all sorts of situations. Lack of backup is exasperating and on a work machine if you work from home, expensive. Additional options: If your external drive is loaded with Ventoy you can boot your choice of diagnostic and recovery/rescue tools too, and not just .iso images. Once you know how to do this it serves you for life and learning can substitute for less productive leisure amusements. Yet another option is software like Deep Freeze and other restore-on-reboot programs popular with schools which don't have time to constantly reimage machines. Of course I would still back up because hardware failures happen. Learning is fun and empowering. I've never taken a computer to anyone else to work on and personal ability to instantly deal with problems saves money and time.
