  1. The WWII generation knew about them since the Red Ball Express was key to victory in the ETO, but the public today know little about history. The Red Ball Express were FAR more valuable to the war effort (armored warfare doesn't work without fuel and food!) than the Tuskegee Airmen. If every Tuskegee aircraft were shot down it would have been a statistic. If the Red Ball Express had failed the Wehrmacht would have prolonged the war and cost hundreds of thousands of Allied casualties.
