  1. The US is far too large and ideologically diverse to be one country so that was forced by Federalists. Enemies should not share land. Pretending they're not enemies was always a convenient pretense. The natural fault lines cannot be pretended away. Federalists demand to control it all as one entity setting the conditions for freedom from Federalism. All minds are made up.
