  1. Russia bombed ISIS in Syria, lest we forget, and the Kremlin's history of oppressing domestic Muslims (including expending them it its wars) is long and distinguished.

  2. Islamic State-Khorasan bombed Kabul airport to attack the US forces exiting Afghanistan. They and the Taliban (who also got smoked while protecting the evacuation) are mortal enemies. IS-K presumably want revenge for Russia bombing their buddies in Syria, Chechnya etc.
