@tonydiesel3444 Because playing it SAFE is the way to retire young, not dreaming risky dreams. I did similar and fully retired at 47. Freedom is not having to work, not chasing a bag for life.

Youtube and social media say everyone is broke but that's for the views. If you have nothing to lose do something drastic and roll the dice, don't follow the herd because the herd are not intelligent. For example try a job or career that instantly takes you away from where you are. As for college and everything else the way forward is leading a RUTHLESSLY planned life. If someone says "follow your dreams" that's really just sabotage unless you dream wisely. If you're not a felon or medically/mentally disqualified the military is an instant career with comfy benefits and a very early vested retirement that's worked a treat for millions (ign ore memes and don't join the Army). The Merchant Marine is another option. Look for ways out that are NOT what your peers do since they haven't lived long enough to have a clue. Choose aggressive change. Being a company truck driver isn't easy but it can pay nicely if you go OTR.
