  2. Talibs are religious conservatives. The Left are not. Talibs are fiercely nationalist. The Left hate the society they live in. Talibs offered to negotiate the fate of Al Qaeda. Bush ignored them due to inablity to tell one from another. American political and military leadership incompetence are far worse problems than Taliban. That's why nothing was learned from Viet Nam and nothing will be learnt from A-stan. If Americans could not be bombed out of being Christian why would a Talib submit to anti-Islamic social changes some American decided was a good idea? US problems are self-inflicted.
