@danhtran6401 Life is war and war is messy. There will always be casualties but letting the pursuit of perfection be the enemy of "good enough" is not useful. All systems have corruption. Worse cases look like the Russian Federation but China elevated more humans to a modern standard of living in a shorter time (since 1948) than any other nation.

Simple cultures need simple systems and prosperity is much more useful than poverty under anarchy. Most government is badly run because most humans are unintelligent, ignorant brutes even in "advanced" nations. Democracy inevitably becomes idiocracy because for good or ill it lets the monkeys run the zoo. No surprise a properly managed dictatorship is stable and secure. This won't work everywhere because humans are stupid, but it's working in Singapore validating it in this specific situation. That said, the party would be wise to remember it like all governments exists by the consent of the governed and a sufficiently annoyed public can remove any government,

Technology is ideology-agnostic. Reducing energy dependence on OPEC mood swings is an unqualified good for the US and need not be perfect to be highly useful. Even if one doesn't care about the environment there is enormous strategic benefit (strategy is much more than war) to diversifying energy sources. Luddite non-techies should not make tech policy no matter which side of the aisle they're on because they are not equipped to know how to make informed choices.

Real subject matter experts understand the STRATEGIC NECESSITY to have at least some US shipbuilding industry and the Jones Act delivers. There is more to life than chasing the cheapest source of strategic sealift. Ships the US does not own are ships the US cannot control in wartime. Frome a genuine expert in shipping, not some spectator hunting views: https://www.youtube.com/@wgowshipping

The US should encourage more immigration from the Philippines. It's a win for all concerned as Filipinos are basically pre-assimilated and have the strong work ethic that thrives in the US. The US must maintain an internal age balance and that means (as throughout its history) managing immigration. The US military is ample proof Filipinos are a great fit. I've never had a bad Filipino Airman (USAF career vet here) and all were professional and great to work with. Everyone wins.

Developing nations like the US once was must sacrfice because business is war. Those who understand this have a more useful perspective. One day China can coast like the West as other nations become hyper-competitive.
