  1. If you're mindless enough to buy a home with an HOA in the first place you chose your fate. If you already made the mistake try to get elected TO the HOA which my bro did. HOA go with another common mistake, buying a condo instead of renting an apartment. If you do not OWN the property on which your home sits AND own the entire structure you're completely vulnerable to those who own the property etc. Many naive, simple, ignorant but otherwise decent people get ripped off for failing to understand the world is a very bad place.
