  1. It takes cojones to admit being a fool. Well done. There was never anything to admire about a system which killed more innocent Chinese people than the Imperial Japanese Army, though current Chinese don't seem to mind.

  3. Children choose war which is bad for economic stability. Adults act with money and play a very long game. Beijing has nothing to gain from actual war while trade can gradually increase its economic power and make billions over time. The best way to obtain resources is exploit economic weakness so their owners are forced to extract and sell them at little or nil profit out of desperation. If the market changes there are fewer domestic jobs at stake.
