  1. Private businesses cannot be trusted because money overrides integrity which is homeopathically rare on a good day. Rolling stock should be maintained to aviation standards and if that cannot be managed, tough shit, take it out of service. That was a sad looking repair to this retired jet mech. Railroad safety regs are written in blood. Railroads should be FORCED to properly man their equipment or if they cannot do so, operate at a level they can support. If they go out of business someone competent can buy them out. Leadership should not have authority to under-man operations. Humans are not disciplined by nature. They require firm but hard imposed discipline to develop self-discipline. Safety agencies should appropriate orders then crush those who disobey them. Lives are at stake. BTW pipeline is vastly safer than rail but pipelines are far easier to block by political action.

  2. That's the proper way to do it because a fireworks factory basically produces small munitions! Munition storage areas are dispersed and their contents limited to prevent fratricide.

  3. Demo pilots are very good, but military air shows serve no useful purpose. They should be ended as a waste of money now that video games and other entertainment can replace them. It doesn't matter that people enjoy them. They can go enjoy something else.

  4. Condos are a con job. You lose ALL the control you get with owning a detached conventional home (affordable in the Southeast if you can afford a condo) without any benefit. It makes no sense to me so I would never put myself in such a position of utter helplessness. There us no reason to want to live in anything taller than a ranch style home (stairs kill old people or disable them ending their quality of life) in retirement so I never will. Condos attract people who should know better. Just say no because the combination of being a helpless old person and being at the mercy of someone else controlling your home is a terrible combination. If they are the only way you can live near a beach, grow up and stop wanting to live near a beach (which are hurricane bait anyway).

  5.  @marekholub8668  Fireworks being toys not tools the wise choice would have been moving production overseas. To retain an inherently dangerous business that close to residential areas was obviously negligent and put profit before the safety of Netherlands citizenry.
