  1. No problem! Real men (and women) learn to wrench, don't buy new, then laugh all the way to the bank while spending our considerable savings on whatever we like (in my case a vintage motorbike collection and general welding and machine home shop). If that's too much work or not your thing, make lots more money and pay someone. If you're pulling serious money like doctors etc vehicle cost doesn't really matter.

I've had a few (Ranger, two Ram 50s, S10) and while they served well I bought them dirt cheap used, got bored and traded them off to friends since they were severely underpowered four bangers without much interior room so I used my bigger trucks I still have much more. Truck longevity is real as it ease of maintenance and they fill the role station wagons used to (and had the same drivetrains, my Ford wrecker runs a 460/C6 out of Lincoln) while new trucks fill the role of large luxury cars. They just happen to have beds on the back.
