  1. We have already had this adventure with alcohol, but like alcohol Prohibition the opponents of cannabis are purely motivated by spite. Americans (other than the hardcore in the Midwest) do not really care about personal freedom but do care about inflicting their views on everyone else. The British Crown rightly dumped its religious fanatics in the Colonies so their Christian Taliban would instead serve the Empire. (That they blew it with taxation is another story) and the US will forever suffer the consequences.
