  1. Most people read therefore think at 8th grade level and follow herds to unwise locations. It's easy (and costs nothing) not to live in a flood plain so I don't. It's easy to prepare for fires and storms by removing fuel plants around one's property, so I do. It's easy not to live on the coast thus avoiding storm surges (Hurricane Hugo taught me that). Take a walk around your property and look for dangers you can eliminate.

  2. The solution is simple. MOVE. Humans have moved for thousands of years. Our infrastructure is easy to replace and improve. None of it is special.
