  3. So what? The point of these schools is to GET MONEY FROM DONORS which catering to those donors facilitates. Life is competitive and to renounce advantage is silly and naive (unless your existing status makes that trivial). The point of striving for prosperity is the advantages it confers. The point of legacy admissions is the money it generates for all students.

  4. Typical Russian behavior as its many Eastern European victims are well aware but too few modern Westerners born after the Berlin Wall fell understand. Putin is a symptom of Russia, not some anomaly. Russia will not reform for the same reasons it never has. Russia exterminates or exiles its intelligentsia and dissidents who are the rare exceptions proving the cultural rule. When Putin is gone his replacement will rebuild and the eternal NeoSoviet threat will remain, secure under its nuclear umbrella.

  7. Mistakes like encouraging immigration during a housing shortage are a Democrat-inflicted social disaster. Why are we not helping AMERICANS first? Why don't AMERICANS matter to Democrats? Why did NYC voters elect politicians they knew would give away their birthright while taking their tax dollars? The US should care for its own but they chose to elect people who do not. Voters control the government by action or inaction and inaction is a choice.
