  1. Israeli civilian failure to be armed is now a national disaster. That anyone next to an enemy border would fail to have ready weapons is bizarre. Security forces cannot be everywhere and must mass to be effecitve. Like American innocents in the LA riots Israelis are ON THEIR OWN.

  2. ^Excellent post especially for future use by people who don't think that way but should.Topo maps and flood maps are the first thing I look at before buying property. I'm not rich and can't afford to make a dumb choice. I refuse to live downstream from dams or flood paths, in a flood plain, on the coast in hurricane zones (that's the entire southeast and Gulf region, it's not hard to drive to the beach instead), in any area reliant on levees for protection etc. Just a few miles makes a huge difference.

  3. For those not familiar the NY Post was clickbait before clicks were ever baited. Don't treat it seriously. Use government sites (like NOAA for weather) especially state government sites to keep up with local issues. Facebook is frequently updated by local users and searching for local groups easy.

  7. It is unless one is living under a rock, but what PRECISELY would even more coverage accomplish? The locals and responders knew in advance and the smart ones prepared and/or evacuated. Putting even more content in front of someone on the other side of the US is useless because there's nothing they can do except feel their little feelings then drool on their shoes. Those in position to take useful action don't need anything beyond information news channels are poor at but cellular internet shines. For example Waze is almost immediately updated with traffic and road closures and mobile cell towers are the fastest way to restore comms. Watching some spokesmodel spout the usual is just space filler.
