Bernard Goetz was the hero New York needed but did not deserve. Gun confiscation (the desired end state of what Democrats call "gun control") disarms only honest citizens who obey laws. I escaped the metro area a few years before Goetz was jailed for possessing the weapon that saved his life because the future was obvious. Time proved me wise but I would rather have been mistaken.Another partial solution used to be police stakeouts but the public objected to their fellow thugs being harmed.
