I don't need one and for what they cost I can drive my current vehicle fleet for another 20 years. I measure everything with money and as a techy and mechanic looking after one would be trivial but buying ANY new car is foolish unless you are rich. I paid off my homes by not wasting money on zhit I don't need bought to impress people I don't like. If solar would pay off I would install a freestanding array then charge vehicle and home in one shot but I don't NEED to nor would it sufficiently entertain me to do that. Nobody makes BEV trucks that do what I require and I don't like cars because their payload and towing ability are pathetic. With some planning (not that people plan, I sold used cars for a while convincing me most vehicle buyers are worse than clueless by choice) anyone outside the Rust Belt can buy a reliable truck for cash then keep it on the road for decades, which also gives you time to acquire a spare truck so when the first needs heavy maintenance or repair you just drive the other one. Add a car trailer and one can tow the other. If I got a new BEV I'd sell instantly like I would any other new ride then enjoy the MONEY instead. Many, many men do this as a matter of course since it's easy to find vehicles cheap that need work then fix them yourself. A new BEV doesn't fit that use case. A used one could be interesting but unless I score a repairable wreck for couch money I won't bother.
