Back to the old normal. I find it amusing so many people moved to NY without understanding that THIS is the historic norm, not the opposite. It was far more dangerous and nastier in the 1970s/80s which were far less nastier than say the early 1900s. It's a city. Cities are bad unless you are wealthy (the reason the rich had mansions in north Jersey and upstate New York though they worked in the city). There is no solution as the place is too big to fix and too economically important for many businesses to leave (though WFH from the burbs is a fine response). NYC is where poor people ended up by mistake (like lack of information) or were born but too afraid of change to leave. The individual solution is 100-percent effective. It's called "moving", not making excuses for failure to see the rest of the USA.
