  1. That's fair since most humans are cretinous on a good day and elections prove it. There is nothing to respect about the typical meatbag behind a wheel. Even trucking companies "churn" novice drivers to cut costs so there are fewer professionals out there than many assume.

  2. Musk marketing is the problem. The premature corporate stupidity of trying to field half-arsed systems is a failure driven by SALES droids which has nothing to do with technology and everything to do with desperation to raise stock prices. FSD is not a necessity of course but marketing so treats it. Processing power and sensor fusion will eventually make FSD viable but no time soon. Admitting this would weaken the hype but dishonest marketing is not a technical issue. Give it fifteen or twenty years (which isn't much at all) but marketroids have given infant technology a rep it would not have had it been kept back until it was mature. Marketers are not technical people just paid liars but they're effective because the vast majority of Americans CHOOSE to be tech-illiterate (and are already barely literate in English) making dishonest marketing effective in ways that don't work against intelligent people.
