  1. India should not cultivate ties to Canada and only does so due to domestic poverty. It should instead build a desirable society at home because mass emigration is a mark of social failure. Build a self-sufficient India no one wants to leave and India will become MUCH more powerful regionally thus better able to deter its permanent Pakistani and Chinese cultural and strategic military and economic enemies. The remark that people who leave a country are not zealous patriots is spot on, but make home sufficiently attractive and more talent will remain to contribute to the Indian economy.
