  1. One war is not like the other. Afghanistan was a typical CONSTABULARY operation AGAINST THE WILL OF THE AFGHAN PEOPLE, as Viet Nam was against most of the real nationalists. Ukraine OTOH is part of the long Western struggle with Bolshevism and its kin. Russia is responsible for nearly all of the global Left and subversion for well over a century.

  2. I remember when Americans objected to Russian imperialism because they bothered to take interest in history, geopolitics and war. Today the naive and ignorant (most Americans read therefore think at an 8th grade reading level) judge everything by their local competition for power. Europe is far more important to global democracy (without which the US loses most of its economic influence!) than for example Taiwan.
