Noobs unfamiliar with Russian history often see Putin as the problem instead of a mere sympton of the Russian cancer which killed millions of innoncents (including other Russians). Russia is a rare, intrinsically evil society and culture. Russia enslaved its serfs, fought against secular democracy until the 1917 revolution then fought to install Bolshevism. Everything that matters about Russia is toxic by the choice of centuries worth of vatniks.

  3. Putin's replacement may be competent and that would be bad news for Russia can never reform into a free secular democracy. Russian culture ensures it will remain a mafia state run by the most powerful which means organized crime funded by resource extraction. The real Russians ensure this by exiling or killing their already microscopic intelligentsia. Naive (the polite term for imbecile) specatators unfamliar with Russian history don't understand Russian culture, not just an ephemeral administration, is the problem and there is no solution leaving containment now as in the Soviet era the only option. When Putin is replaced by another boss of bosses that boss will be an ultranationalist like Girkin unless there are enough adults left in the secret services to liquidate the problem. There is no reformist movement that is not controlled opposition or otherwise doomed. No loss since Russia contributes nothing to civilization (aping European culture gaudily with palaces and other toys is not innovation) but the West has many hopeful fools who will be easy to deceive just like the last time.
