  1. The moral of the story is don't move to a high growth area because growth INEVITABLY ruins everything you move there for. Don't buy too much house. Don't buy in dangerous weather areas (if it gets many hurricanes, don't live there). BUY A HOME TO LIVE IN, not to resell. This will profit you MORE over time by lower expenses. My lower class income (under 70K net/year) due to being crippled isn't a problem because I bought a home in a cheap area with several acres then easily (because it's a small single storey old ranch) because it needed work which my wife did most of personally (ANYONE can DIY so do it!) while I brought home the bacon in the Air Force. When you live in an area zoned agricultural you get much more freedom and no HOA plus few neighbors. We planned all this because the best way to win is not be a lemming. MANY Americans do this but we don't make the news.
