  1. I can afford most new cars for cash because I will never waste money buying a new car under any terms. I much prefer my paid off homes to pi$$ing away cash into a disposable depreciating asset. Savings let you retire. New cars mostly prolong the misery of working for a living. (Learning to wrench makes having more rides than you need cheap and easy.)

  2. So what? It's just another interchangeable consumer product whose management chose failure. Cars today have no more personality than video cards.
