  1.  @kenmore01  Battery capacity is relevant. Those heavier batteries DISPLACE PAYLOAD and the added weight reduces off-paved road mobility. Not every department is urban LA.

  3.  @MrWaterPeople  Portable pumps exist and leaving a scene to recharge means more downtime than simply adding diesel. There is no demonstrated NEED for BEV fire trucks as their tiny mileage per year means trivial pollution.
