  1. Belts are for pants, not engine timing. Timing components should last the full life of an engine including not ENDING that life. Engineers should spend at least a year as a (multibrand for depth) mechanic before designing engines. Using a belt under those oily conditions is worse than deliberate sabotage because it's so blatantly stupid. Who was head of the design team and who approved this ridiculous design? Why do they still have jobs?
