  1. Horses require constant care or they deteriorate quickly. Lock one in a barn next to a Ford for twenty years then see which starts easier.

  2. A T Model can sit in a barn over a century and be refurbished better than new. Thanks to poured bearings and the rest of the design which was intended to be fixed by primitive shops in austere conditions it will remain easy to restore a 200 year old T Model when the time comes. They're slow and the awful brakes were purely a greed-driven design choice (larger drums existed on other vehicles of the early 1900s) but they're about the "minimum viable automobile".
