  1. Build more homes. Trying to preserve greenfield areas means insufficient housing in a small island. Homes require land.

  2. Emigrate! Canada has plenty of room as does the US. As an American I welcome you and on a bad day in the US you'll have far more opportunities than a good day in the UK. Young people at least have a decent shot at new lives. I've served with many Brit expats in the USAF and given recruiting shortages that's a fine opportunity with a twenty year retirement vesting and lifetime medical care plus much more.

  3. Landlords didn't create the crisis. What is it you would wish them to do? There are many excellent landlords but of course your "mileage may vary". I've always had good ones.
