  5. This would a wise time to request more US military aid. There is plenty of appropriate equipment in storage suited to the terrain including many MRAPs, M113 family of vehicles (which can be uparmored easily to Bradley thickness and fitted with ERA), artillery (tube arty is always useful and never really goes obsolete), trucks and the many necessities required for a military buildup. The equipment is sound and fit for purpose but not "expeditionary" which missions require different hardware to counter Chinese operations in nation-state war.

When you are physically weak and unarmed you are completely defenseless and no one has "rights" in the Western sense outside Western civilization. Sweden being a democracy if the public are delighted to adopt the third world unfiltered that's their right, but military training is NOT civilian police training and the majority of skill sets do not overlap. If the Swedish military is functionally degraded from combat arms to an internal police force it will be neither fish nor fowl. OTOH an expanded professional national police force to manage the future Swedes freely chose has a much better chance at being effective. Crime should not be considered a temporary problem. Training professionals takes time and considerable money. To recruit those professionals then retain them requires a visible attainable desirable career path. DO NOT copy anything the US does.

Outsiders whose entire experience is distant from European reality should study Russian imperial history for those goals will never change being part of the cultural fabric not merely choices by individual administrations. European stability was brief and in living memory. The post-WWII stability required a much stronger NATO than the present debilitated husk.   21. A PROPERLY MAINTAINED 45-year old helo is fine. No one is forced not to maintain them and Iran had decades to replace its fleet with Russian and Chinese aircraft. Where the money went is a mystery but a wealth oil state has no excuse for poor maintenance, poor equipment, poor training or flying into a mountain. Helos are dangerous any much newer machines CFIT every year due to pilot error. Flying into IMC conditions was unwise.
