Yeah... "What could I have done for him?" Maybe given a damn when he failed nearly every single one of his classes? You just took it for granted that he would get his diploma, and go on to be a useless idiot... never once realizing that maybe, once he stops getting a free ride in high school, life would get harder.

@dr.rickbooty Because life isn't going to be easy when you leave school, have a diploma, and know nothing. Schools are usually quite flawed. This is a given in nearly every part of the nation. It is also the parents' duty to ensure their children are doing what they need to do to become functioning members of society. Schools aren't day cares, or nannies. I had a class where I had to do no work to pass once. It was a computer science course I took as an elective because my school didn't offer more curricula for CS after sophomore year. I literally sat in the computer lab during normal class hours for the freshmen and sophomores with one other kid (a close friend of mine) who took that same elective and we just tuned out the teacher giving lessons on stuff we already knew. I used all that class time to work on projects and learn how to write code using different technologies. I can't empathize with people who don't care about their future. You will only spend a minority of your life in school and you don't have to be a mathematician to realize this.

@aureouss2823 That's true, but a parent also can't just assume that the school their kids go to is good. This mom obviously has no time to raise a kid.
