@2bit8bytes It's just not how people thought at the time, especially knights. To be loyal to one's lord is paramount. Of course, you could argue that this was a brainwashing tactic used to manipulate knights so that lords could have capable warriors at their side no matter what, but it was a different time and that was viewed by many knights as the moral thing to do.
