@nickstevenson2839 The "evidence" is stretched by people with an agenda. In reality our society is less violent than it was in the 90s. It's really easy to stretch the definition of a "mass shooting" as well. It's a very vague phrase that can be used for almost anything involving a gun. Also, a major problem with anti-gunners is that they do not realize that guns do in fact do good for us -- there are many defensive uses of a gun and they outnumber homicides. They only focus on the negative statistics, which in many cases are stretched or fabricated. In this world where entire organizations that collect and analyze data to publish statistics are set up with an agenda in mind, it's really easy to point to one of these reports and say "look the data supports my position."

Ah yes the classic "I read the amendment with no context and an agenda" argument, I've heard it several times from people outside the US. Easiest way to debunk is to tell them to read the bill of rights that every one of the 13 colonies had before forming the union. They all have the 2nd amendment, worded 13 different ways, and they're welcome to try and figure out how those 13 colonies all came to the conclusion that they should all give up that right that they all wanted.
