I've seen weekly murder and shooting counts for Chicago posted on news sites that don't lean left... It's very sad, but nobody cares, least of all the politicians elected by those who host and watch The View.

The anti-gun movement is entirely top down. It's a smoke screen created by lawmakers who want their constituents to believe they're doing something -- affecting some sort of change. Never once have anti-gun policies had any definitive measurable effect on our crime rates. Even the NFA, aimed at preventing fully-automatic guns like Thompsons from getting in the hands of old school mobsters, was not the policy that curbed mob violence. It was the end of Prohibition which dried up all their illegal smuggling business and caused them to eat themselves.

@seanpittaway5341 "Guns have never and will never stop violence, fact!" Virtually everyone born before the 20th century would disagree with you. There was a time once, when men who practiced violence for their entire lives would prey on those who simply wanted to live out a peaceful existence. That time only ended very recently, in the past couple hundred years. Why? Because that entire life of violence and training was invalidated by less than an ounce of lead flying at high speed, by any person who would bother to pick up a gun. So if you want to go back to feudal times where we must serve under an elite class who grants us the privilege of safety at the cost of all our freedom, feel free to advocate. You'll just look like a clown while doing so.
