The biggest importer in the world is going to lose to the biggest exporter in the world? Lol, no. the importer has all the capital. The exporter will lose when their biggest customer stops buying their crap

@ We import pretty much everything except food. Take a look at the auto market for example. I'm sorry, but this is common knowledge, this is not some kind of controversial conspiracy theory take. If you don't know this maybe reconsider having an opinion on politics. Also, you misread my comment completely. The US is the biggest importer in the world, so we are going to win, because we have the capital to buy China's product. By withholding that capital, they will suffer. We will suffer only slightly by not having access to cheap (but low quality) product. However, none of that product is essential (like food). Consider this problem at a smaller scale. You are a wealthy person and you like buying cheap cookies. The cheap cookie manufacturer has gone out of business because of a health inspection that revealed their cookies are bad for you. Are you going to somehow starve or suffer for this?

@ He backed down because companies like Apple bribed him, just like nearly every other American official since the post WW2 era. It's disappointing, to be sure, but all I can hope for is that he made a deal with them like making them move their manufacturing out of China. Still, China's entire economy is not propped up by iPhones and TVs, they're not exactly safe. If you think China would win against us in a conflict like this, I don't know what to tell you other than to stop reading their state media apparatus. We beat the Soviet Union in almost the exact same manner.
