They wouldn't see much difference, other than the political positions of the candidates. The mechanisms and methods used by the government are mostly the same, but slightly less extreme. They're trying, though.

@HamhocksUnlimited We have no choice but to all buy Amazon smart homes? That's news to me.

You mean 100 years ago. The English weren't really "tricked" into joining WW2. They were bombed by the Luftwaffe. WW1, however, was entirely preventable. If we go far enough along that thread, WW2 probably never would have happened.

Of course, they literally acted upon a single complaint with no evidence whatsoever to back it up. It's all about feelings. It's the equivalent of being thrown in jail without a trial for a single accusation.

@theimmortalgrenadier3851 That argument goes both ways. If you ask to meet up in person, you're just as likely to be a fed.

@minniemoe4797 There are smaller markets and higher quality markets than Walmart. Quite a few other choices in fact. I don't know where you live that only has giant corporate outlets, maybe a small town that got bought up? The same goes for banks, there are many smaller banks and credit unions to choose from. Where do you get your doomer philosophy from?

@stuffchat "From Hell" is the opposite of modern art... look up Hieronymous Bosch

Coming soon: corporate court complete with a judge (perhaps even a panel of judges) to arbitrate stupid bullshit like this

@Chud_Bud_Supreme more accurately, Tzeentch. Deviancy and sexual pleasure isn't the end goal here. It is just a means to the end which is the division of society. Mothers are now divided against their own children and fathers in most "trans children" cases.

@RiskOfBaer The Germans never really conquered much, merely warred among themselves for most of history. It's kind of like if Sengoku Jidai was in Europe and isolated within the Holy Roman Empire. The Nazi regime was something that happened under very unique circumstances and it won't happen again. If it does it will be for a different purpose. Unless, of course, there are Communists on the street en masse trying to threaten people once again, combined with crushing economic struggles. Which is what scared the common folk into voting for them to begin with.

@byoken Oh come on, it's a funny pic.

@theAEDan The only mistake the Allies made after WW2 was actually working with Stalin instead of laughing in his face. Hitler was right about Communism, but he was not a virtuous man himself. He had no qualms about casually murdering politicians, even if they had supported him. He had no love of Christianity and perverted it into state worship. It would have been ideal if both nations had destroyed each other in the war and allowed someone less fanatical and exploitative to rebuild. Instead of finishing the job he had left undone, the Americans decided to buy the stupid British shit about the Germans being an "inherently warlike people" once again and follow through on the greatest psy-op ever conceived and executed. This required careful coordination with the Soviets, who fabricated tons of evidence on their part, all while keeping the hands of Britons and Americans clean.

Not to be "that guy" but abortion is not really a new thing. There's a reason why there's a specific, biblical penalty for women who commit infanticide in medieval law (drowning, to represent the baptism the child never got)

I've heard that trans operations are popular in certain ME nations, I think Iran specifically. Reason being is that it's a loophole for gay people to not get killed.

@Mia1Goth Nah, the Nazis only look good if you consider their reactionary policies and even then the way they went about it was extremely underhanded, no better than the Communists. Imagine supporting the next "Hitler" and becoming a prominent officer within his movement only for him to murder you once he reached a position of power because you advocated for different policies than he wanted when your party wasn't in power and he doesn't need your support any more. That's the type of thing you'd have to deal with in a new Nazi party. The two main ideologies of the post-industrial working class struggle, Fascism and Communism, are two sides of the same coin. One always exist in reaction to the other and neither of them are good for humanity. Holding up Fascism because it is capable of acknowledging basic facts of life like "women shouldn't be in combat units in the military" is a stupid idea. We shouldn't need to resort to extremism to acknowledge immutable facts of life.

@GoldOxide8463 Extremely fucking lukewarm take actually If it isn't, then go hang out at the homeless shelter instead of your buddy's house this weekend

@BC-yd6dl You do, actually. The global standard is now capitalism even if certain governments don't want to admit that, because it's the only way to compete with established capitalists. As much as I am against virtually every other economic system, it is undeniable that capitalism is directly the cause of national governments incentivizing illegal immigration into their own borders. They believe that it is cheaper to import adult males than have children and educate them natively. What they don't account for are other costs, both tangible and intangible.

@ahoramazda6864 Actually modern Paganism is the domain of the woke and hippies. Wiccans for example are mostly cringey spiteful women who are so passive aggressive that they cast spells on people they don't like

@minniemoe4797 Have you considered moving? It's a bit tragic what's happening to small town America, but you have to do what you have to do.

Not sure if you're talking about who I think you're talking about, but that guy's secretary wrote in his memoirs that he thought pagan German LARPers in his top brass were very cringeworthy. It is certainly a humiliation ritual though.
