  2. If you eat raw cannabis plant, it gets destroyed by your stomach acid. I tried to tell this to my dad a few times but he keeps eating my vaped weed like it will do something, lmao. It never does. You need to cook it in an oil, then the active ingredient is absorbed into the oil, usually butter. It has a taste for sure. Having said that, these kids may have gotten a stomach ache (not gotten high) because of the plant, then went to the hospital as a precaution. Nowhere do they say they got stoned
