I can't say I feel sorry for the thief, however, the way the owner's son went about this is a little stupid. He hesitated when he approached the car assuming the guy would freeze because he had a gun pointed at him. You don't brandish a gun at a guy already in his car with key in the ignition, assuming he will stop. The natural response in that situation is to get out as fast as possible criminal or not. In my opinion you have two options here, either call the police and give them the license plate number or shoot him dead. Not much wiggle room when all you have is a gun and he's already in the car.

@Holisticxoxo Not too long ago, thieves like this would have been hanged by the justice system, even if it was a first offense. It's a lot better for criminals than it was previously and it only gets better. If one offense and prison term doesn't cause you to have a wake-up call, you're probably hopeless.
