Usually because it's not a head-on collision. I think he t-boned them in this crash. Much more likely for the victim of a t-bone crash to die than the driver. Also there's something to be said for alcohol loosening up the muscles which helps you survive in a car accident

Any death due to negligence is manslaughter. Doesn't really matter how egregiously negligent you were (that's where the maximum allowable sentence comes in). He would have had to have intent to kill for it to be anything else.

@kimberlysevastyanenko3798 Okay, so who's the judge of that "immediate clarity" on the scene? We're supposed to trust the cops now? Cops who have arrest quotas and get promotions for putting away criminals? Yeah that's a flawless idea that won't end poorly at all.

@leathalynn8745 You just took his exact argument and used it against him ("What if you were the one accused of the crime?"). Try harder. If you can't see how bad of an idea this is, read about more crime stories, that's all I have to say.
