Sadly, from recent studies it looks like Gen Z is cripplingly computer deficient now because they only know how to use smart devices. I'm a millennial (one of the oldest, admittedly) software developer, and I simply can't stand mobile software much of the time. To sum it up, it's like desktop software, but worse. There's too many sacrifices made for the sake of being able to put it on a touch screen most of the time. And on top of that they usually have less time/budget to put out a mobile app, depending on the company (if the mobile app is not their main product) so it is naturally worse.

@sujitwarrier4857 Windows 8 is a product of Microsoft's continued failed attempts to break into the mobile market. They wasted a lot of time and effort writing the "Metro" interface which is the tile menu, designed for a phone or tablet. It's clunky, slow, and the search function doesn't work very well. Microsoft seems to suffer greatly from an acute aversion to refactoring very old Windows code. They don't want to interface or use older stuff written into the OS, so they often just build new stuff instead, and that stuff ends up having its own issues. That's why it feels so bloated.
