@DaChaGee Right, but they tend to have idealized equipment for the situation. This is equipment that hasn't changed in almost 400 years. Wool pants and jacket for summer.

@kh2b573 Not really a valid comparison. You don't endanger the health of young men by continuing to use the same flag. Meanwhile you sit in your comfortably air conditioned room posting on the internet while demanding that they continue to wear wool uniforms in summer. That's incredibly stupid even for standards of the period where those uniforms were designed, most armies had a summer uniform and a winter uniform. I'm sure the guards thank you for your patriotism...
