I've seen a pit bull go on the attack before. It doesn't look like this. He would have either gone straight for the throat or stood his ground and growled/barked to warn him off. It's shocking how afraid cops are of dogs, and ironic considering how much the department makes use of them. You know that silly stereotype about black people being afraid of dogs? Cops are way worse and fit that stereotype much better.

@stop-- I've only seen one pit bull attack, but it had no warnings at all. He went straight for the throat of the family dog. Luckily the family dog was a very nimble Weimaraner so he simply stood up and curled his neck away from him. However, usually pit bulls do not attack people.
