@thatonenippleclamplyingaro3612 It's less of a race thing and more of a "foreigner" thing. If you're a first generation immigrant then you might not know all the laws or how to resolve a situation like this legally. Maybe that's what they were trying to take advantage of, but they probably just didn't care either way. They sensed weakness when she agreed to a cash only payment, that was a terrible mistake on her part.

@furtfurt I highly doubt it, no company wants this kind of publicity even if they're technically not to blame. The only thing this accomplishes for them is potentially scaring away property owners who may wish to host.

@furtfurt But they got those bad tenants because they used Airbnb in the first place. This story proves that Airbnb has shady tenants using it.
